The existing Dynamics CRM Online plan will be retired however, you can migrate to D365 Customer Engagement. If you have a current subscription, this change won’t affect you right away. As a global administrator, you’ll get email updates and see posts in the message center with information on when you need to take action.

Options for Upgrading or Switching Plans

You can choose to maintain similar functionalities you have with CRM Online or take full advantage of new features and functionality from Dynamics 365. The licensing changes are as follows.

  • Enterprise – D365 Customer Engagement Plan
  • Professional – D365 Customer Engagement Plan, Dynamics 365 for Sales, or Dynamics 365 for Customer Service
  • Basic – D365 for Team Members, Dynamics 365 for Sales, Dynamics 365 for Customer Service, or Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Plan
  • Essential – Dynamics 365 for Team Members
  • Field Service Add-on – D365 Customer Engagement Plan, or D365 Field Service
  • Project Service Automation Add-on – D365 Customer Engagement Plan, or D365 Project Service Automation

Existing customers must pick which Dynamics 365 licenses meets the needs of their organization and review the use rights below to determine the mix of user subscriptions that are suitable for your organization’s needs. Based upon the use rights changes with the launch of Dynamics 365, this may be different than what you have today.

  • For the Professional, Enterprise, Field Service, Project Service Automation, or Basic Users, consider D365 Customer Engagement Plan

This option only ideals if you want to take advantage of functionality in multiple Dynamics 365 applications, or the new functionality that Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Plan has to offer.

Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Plan includes Customer Service, Sales, D365 Project Service Automation, D365 Field Service, and PowerApps.

  • For the Professional Users, consider Dynamics 365 for Customer Service

Select this option if you want to maintain access to the Customer Service functionality which is currently going to available in CRM Online. The Customer Service Application is intended for users who will engage in any kind of customer service role, from basic call centers to more advanced support scenarios, focused on case management.

  • For the Professional Users, consider Dynamics 365 for Sales

Select this option if you want to maintain access to the Sales functionality which is currently going to available in CRM Online. The Sales Application is intended for users who will engage in field sales, inside sales, partner sales, sales management, or any other full sales role.

This license includes all core sales functionality – Lead Management & Opportunity, Product & Price Lists management, competitor tracking, lightweight marketing capabilities, Quote/Order/Invoice, and Unified Service Desk.

  • For the Basic Users, consider Dynamics 365 for Customer Service

Select this option if you want to maintain access to Customer Service functionality and require to write access to Cases. This will give you access to what you have today in CRM Online, plus embedded PowerApps, Gamification, Social Engagement, Mobile Offline, and Voice of Customer.

  • For the Basic Users, consider Dynamics 365 for Sales

Select this option if you want to maintain access to full Sales functionality and require write access to Cases or Leads. This will give you access to what you have today in CRM Online, plus PowerApps, Social Engagement, Gamification, Mobile Offline, and Voice of Customer.

  • For the Basic Users, consider Dynamics 365 for Team Members

Select this option if you do not need access to full functionality and do not require write access to Leads. This will give you access to what you have today in CRM Online (minus leads) plus embedded PowerApps.

  • For the Essential Users, consider Dynamics 365 for Team Members

Select this option to get access to what you have today in CRM Online plus embedded PowerApps.

  • For the Project Service Automation Users, consider D365 Project Service Automation or D365 Customer Engagement Plan

Select this option if you purchased a Basic User plus D365 Project Service Automation plan. D365 Project Service Automation includes all of the functionality of the Project Service Automation add-on, plus PowerApps, Social Engagement, Gamification, Mobile Offline, Project Online Premium, and Voice of Customer.

  • For the Field Service Users, consider D365 Field Service or D365 Customer Engagement Plan

Choose this option if you purchased a Basic User plus D365 Field Service plan. D365 Field Service is intended for users who will be engaging in any kind of field technician, scheduler, or dispatcher role. This license includes all the functionality of the Field Service Add-on, plus PowerApps, Gamification, Social Engagement, Mobile Offline, Project Online Premium, and Voice of Customer.

You can switch to Microsoft Dynamics 365 now, or wait until it’s time to renew, and then upgrade during the renewal process. We at Locus IT provide such services.
